Google Pixel smartphones were launched a week ago with great pomp and show. Despite the expensive price tag, most of the Android community welcomed it to the family. The pre-orders were started and reviews are up already. The Google Pixel apps are available for download to all the users but not many of them are working. The Pixel Google Camera v4.2 is one of the apps that didn’t work earlier but is now ported to Nexus phone running Nougat. It’s not the first app to get ported to other devices, you can get Google Assistant on your device from below linked tutorials.
The Pixel Google Camera v4.2 app is compatible only with the Pixel smartphones running Android 7.1 Nougat. Lucky for us, the folks at XDA have managed to port the app to other Nexus devices running Android 7.0 Nougat. Currently, many users confirmed the Pixel Google Camera v4.2 app working on Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, and Nexus 9 devices. Since this is a modded app, it will not install on top of the pre-existing camera app on your device. Also, it won’t work on other non-Nexus devices, so don’t bother to install it.
You can simply install the Pixel Google Camera v4.2 app without the need to edit any other file. The app is just modified to work on Nexus devices running Nougat but all the features are intact. Once installed, you can enjoy many options like long-press to lock the exposure/focus, manual exposure, and new UI grid options. You can find the screenshots of Pixel Google Camera v4.2 app from below followed by the download link.
